Burnout to Balance

a Neuro-affirming women’s support group

What is this group?

This group centers:

  • acceptance,

  • authenticity,

  • and community

rather than trying to “fix” neurodivergence.

This neuro-affirming therapy group is designed for adults who identify as neurodivergent (including ADHD, autistic, or questioning). Together we explore how our brains work, reduce shame, and develop supportive strategies for navigating a neurotypical world.

Clients can expect a supportive, neuro-affirming space where they don’t have to mask or explain themselves. This group combines gentle structure with flexibility, offering a mix of psychoeducation, reflection, and shared discussion around topics like masking, burnout, sensory needs, relationships, and self-understanding. Participation is always optional, and different communication styles are respected. The focus is on building self-awareness, reducing shame, and developing practical, compassionate ways to support your nervous system while connecting with others who have similar lived experiences.

About the facilitator: Katherine Zeigert

Hi, I’m Katherine. I’m a licensed clinical social worker, trauma therapist, and the founder of Monarch Therapy in Kalamazoo, MI. I help women, neurodiverse individuals, and LGBTQIA+ adults move through pain, reconnect with themselves, and create lives that feel more aligned, authentic, and empowered.

I am passionate about facilitating this group experience because I know that if you are a neurodivergent person, you might look like you’re doing “just fine,” on the outside, but inside, you’re tired, anxious, or overwhelmed. This group will be a place to unmask in a place of community, in an attempt to bring our lives from burnout to balance.
